The Health Properties of Chocolate
Here at Chocolate Models we’re not only concerned about the excellence of creating highly desirable chocolate confectionery shapes that both kids and adults love. We’re also about spreading the word about he health aspects of chocolate that plenty of people are perhaps not fully aware of.
Most people believe, and quite rightly too, that chocolate is bad for your health and will make you gain weight if you eat too much of it. Teenagers all know that eating chocolate will inevitably result in a break out of acne (spots, or more colloquially known as zits) and it always seems to happen on the day of a big date with a new potential boyfriend or girlfriend, or some such other hugely important event which involves being in close proximity with another person which means embarrassment city!
But that’s not the whole story when it comes to chocolate. There are actually health benefits!
First of all, the major health benefits of chocolate come from dark chocolate with a reasonably high percentage of cocoa. When that is the case, then the cocoa in the chocolate acts as a very effective antioxidant, helping your body to mop up the free radicals that damage cell structure and are believed to be a major cause of cancer.
Cocoa has also long been known as an aphrodisiac, with solid foundation in its health properties. It improves blood circulation (including that to the sexual organs) and the brain. It also promotes the release of the feel good hormone serotonin, which improves mood and concentration and generally makes us feel good.
So next time you are looking along the shelves of the chocolate stand in your local store, check out the dark chocolate bars with high percentages of cocoa in them and celebrate your good health with something that you like!
